The Original Studio Sinaloa

Inside the original studio...it was cute, cozy but cramped!

Studio Sinaloa began in 1999 as the private studio of Pasadena artist Johanna Girard, on Sinaloa Avenue... ( hence the name. )

In this cozy little A-frame chalet style studio, (pictured here ) Johanna created paintings for galleries in Hawaii and Southern California, and occasionally taught private art lessons for small groups of two or three students.

Over the years, demand for the artist's oil painting lessons grew, and in August of 2009, Johanna decided to open a larger studio at 3763 E. Colorado Blvd. choosing to keep the name Studio Sinaloa, after her original little studio.

Our new 1200 sq. ft studio has lots more room!

Joining Johanna in our new facilty are fellow instructors Jewely Koh, Elaine Kim, Olga Shiller and Maggie Yu, all seasoned art professionals and dedicated art teachers, who are ready to share their unique creative expertise with students of all ages.

Thanks to the efforts of these wonderful teachers, Studio Sinaloa is now able to offer a much larger variety of creative workshops in several different art disciplines and styles. We plan to be adding more great classes all the time, so check back often to see what's new.

The enthusiatic and encouraging teachers here at Studio Sinaloa promise to deliver individual attention and personalized instruction to guide you on your path to you or your child's artisitic goals.
