Watercolors are prized by art collectors and artists worldwide for its fresh, glowing vibrancy. This fluid, transparent paint is unparralled for capturing the nuances of hue and light.

Watercolors are great for kids to learn with, because they require a certain degree of expressive spontanaeity, a quality that comes naturally to most kids.

Paradoxically, the delicate watercolors also require the opposite skill: careful control...if one overworks it, it can easily turn to mud... unless one has a really great teacher, like our own Elaine Kim to help you understand the essentials of color theory and mixing.

About Acrylics

Older students, (12 and up) may enjoy the challenge of painting in Acrylics. These are, also a water soluable paint, but the difference is that once acrylic is dry, it is dry forever...there's no erasing! And the paint dries very quickly, so certain special techniques are needed if you want to blend.

Acrylics may be used thickly, to resemble oil paint, or thinly, to resemble watercolor.
There are many ways to express your unique individuality with acrylics. Are you up to the challenge?
