Early morning sunlight illuminates the bright, multicolored sail of a catamaran on Maui's Kaanapali Beach. It's a wonderful morning to go for a stroll along the golden sands, ejoying the crisp ocean breezes and the sounds of the gentle surf lapping upon the shore.

Kaanapali Beach features a spectacular coral reef teeming with a vast array of brightly hued tropical fish, such as the Humuhumunukunukuapua'a, the official state fish of Hawaii.

Painting this scene brought back many fond memories of the islands for me.
