One of my favorite spots on the island of Oahu is here, relaxing in the shade of this big leafy hau tree. Of course this painting is something of a fantasy, because this popular beach is always crowded with tourists. The bright pink and white umbrellas are courtesy of the beautiful Halekulani Hotel, right on the beach in Waikiki.

The green mountain in the distance is Waikiki's most famous landmark, Diamond Head Crater, an extint volcano.
